What kind of car insurance policy does Hugo offer?

Hugo offers three coverage options: Flex, Basic, and Full. Learn more about what each plan offers below.

Flex Plan

The Hugo Flex plan is a pay-per-day liability policy. With Hugo flex, you can buy 3, 7, 14, or 30 days to start. You can add more days to your account at any time. Every day you drive with your insurance ON, you’ll spend one day from your Hugo account. Not driving tomorrow? Just turn off your coverage so you don't have to pay for car insurance. The less you drive, the more you save, and your days always roll over. Other features of the Hugo Flex plan include:

- No down payment or fees, ever.
- Earn cash rewards
- Turn OFF, pay $0
- Turn ON instantly
- Meets state requirements

Towing and Roadside Assistance are not available for Hugo Flex.

Basic Plan

The Hugo Basic plan is a traditional liability policy. The Basic plan is best for drivers who still want to make small, flexible payments, but who don't want to worry about turning their insurance ON and OFF. When you sign up for a Hugo Basic plan, you can buy 3, 7, 14, 30 days, or 6 months of insurance to start. After that, you can choose to add money to your account at your own pace or turn on Auto Reload so you can set it and forget it. Other features of the Hugo Basic plan include:

- No upfront fees - we let you pay over time.
- Earn cash rewards
- Turn OFF
- Meets state requirements

Medical Coverage and Accidental Death Coverage are available for Hugo Basic. For Rental Insurance, Comprehensive, or Collision coverage, you'll want the Hugo Full Plan. Towing and Roadside Assistance are not yet available for Hugo Basic.

Full Plan

The Hugo Full plan is a full coverage policy (comprehensive + collision coverage). The Full plan is best for drivers who want the most coverage for themselves and their vehicle. You can choose your level of coverage, as well as add additional coverages like Roadside Assistance and Towing. Like the Basic Plan, you can buy 3, 7, 14, 30 days, or 6 months of insurance to start.  Other features of Hugo Full Coverage include:

-
No upfront fees - we let you pay over time.
- Earn cash rewards
- Same day claims pay
- Coverage for your vehicle
- Coverage for your passengers
- Meets state requirements

Medical Coverage, Accidental Death Coverage, Rental Insurance, Comprehensive, and Collision coverage are available with Hugo Full. Towing and Roadside Assistance are not yet available for Hugo Full.

What's liability coverage? Liability coverage is what’s required by law to drive and pays a person other than you or your passengers for personal injury or property damage. It doesn't protect you or your car – it does not cover damage to your car or its contents, or injury to you or your passengers - even if you weren't at-fault.

What's full coverage? Full coverage describes the combination of liability, collision, and comprehensive insurance – covers damages to your vehicle as well as personal injury. When you lease or finance a car, lenders typically require full coverage.
